The partners of Hubbard Pegman & Whitney LLP launched their new solicitors practice in Hammersmith in style at the Lyric recently. They started with a workshop with the Lyric Young Company, facilitated by David Baker.
Starting with simple exercises and games the partners and staff at HPW were soon acting out shapes and scenes, culminating in a short play of three scenes. The photo attached shows partners Charlotte Pegman (petal) and David Whitney (stalk) acting as a rose with members of staff and the Lyric Young Company.
David Baker from the Lyric said: ''The work we do with the Lyric Young Company helps them to develop confidence, team spirit, energy and enthusiasm. All of these skills can be applied at work, as I think the partners and staff at HPW would agree."
"We are a local firm and aim to be professional and approachable" said Charlotte Pegman, the managing partner, "Launching our practice with a workshop with the Lyric Young Company allowed us to get out of the office and do something different. We all learnt from the members of the Young Company and will certainly be back for more."
David Baker from the Lyric said: "The Lyric's Theatrical Thinking for Creative Companies scheme offers sessions in team building and presentation skills within a day-long workshop. HPW were involved in a workshop with some of our Lyric Young Company members where we engaged in some simple fun group arts activities which encouraged staff to play and work together...they were acting before they knew it!"
The firm finished their launch with a reception at the Lyric with over 100 clients and guests.
Hubbard Pegman & Whitney LLP was formed from the private client practice of Glenisters. The firm was originally founded on the site of the Lyric in 1906 and has supported the Lyric for some years. The firm is a high street solicitors based in Hammersmith.

Theatrical Thinking for Creative Companies looks beyond traditional management techniques to provide arts-based training opportunities to employees from the private and public sectors. The Lyric offer sessions in team building and presentation skills within a day-long workshop that enables staff to unlock their creativity and enhance the way they think and act at work. Both sessions draw on techniques used by actors and directors. The day is led by two professional theatre directors and will take place at the Lyric Hammersmith. There is an ever-increasing need for creativity and innovation in business, and the Lyric is well placed to teach creative skills that enable employees to communicate better with colleagues and clients.
