HPW solicitors was proud to be one of the sponsors of the ONAM Celebration by British Keralites Association at Featherstone High School on 7th September. The 44 year old association is a registered charity striving to foster the cultural richness of Kerala in the modern British Society and to facilitate social integration.

Onam is the Harvest festival of Kerala, the southernmost state in India. This festival celebrates equality, diversity and prosperity while fondly recalling a mythical era where everyone was equal, had plenty and there was no crime or falsehood, the state of affairs all humanity always aspires for.

The days function involved a sumptuous vegetarian meal Ona Sadhya)  served on banana leaf, a procession with the mythical King Mahabeli, cultural dances, orchestra and variety entertainment programme performed by a group of artists from Kerala.

Lord Anthony Young, Life Peer of the House of Lords and Lady Margaret Young and Mr. Rajamanickam IAS, a member of the India Administrative Service who was the chief executive of many districts in Kerala were the special guests at the function.

Outi Hubbard and Peter Augustine represented the firm at the function.
