Continue readingAt Hubbard, Pegman and Whitney Solicitors, we have represented Prison Officers in cases involving Personal Injury arising out of their employment within the prison services.
These cases usually involve assaults on them by prisoners whilst in the course of their work, resulting in both physical and emotional trauma.
For example in the past a Prison Officer had been assaulted badly having been struck by an inmate. The Client alleged that the incident was caused by the negligence and/or breach of statutory duty of the Prison service. The client had lost consciousness due to the injury and had suffered problems in regard to his hearing and anxiety.
We had recognised his problem and he was examined by a Consultant psychiatrist. He was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and therefore would benefit from further treatment. After utilising this report to our case, we were able help our client obtain compensation for this assault.
